JAKE SLAGLE
Owner & DJ
Jake is the owner and main DJ. He started working for Xela Sound in 2011 at age 14 with his uncle, Bob Kornrumpf, the former owner. He spent his early days hauling gear, setting up equipment and wiring speakers. Before he knew it, he was running the board. Starting in January 2019 after eight years and hundreds of events, he took over the business.
Jake likes to break in the new speakers with Metallica and test the venue acoustics with Pachelbel’s Canon in D. His favorite part of being a DJ is working the mic. Jake spends his days teaching math so he is no stranger to public speaking or getting everyone's attention.

His hobbies include playing board games, writing comic books and giving you the best event sound possible.
KAYLA CAMPBELL
Marketing & Graphics
Kayla handles all things behind the scenes. She is in charge of all marketing and graphics that come out of Xela Sound. Kayla has a degree in both Communication Marketing and Art and is also part of the marketing and web team at a boutique in Lewes, Delaware. Kayla joined the Xela Sound team in 2018 as a tag-along to help set up, tear down and babysit the board while Jake was at the mic doing his thing.

Kayla's passions include paddleboarding, drawing and making sure that Jake doesn't post anything without being copy-edited by her first.

BOB & AUBREY KORNRUMPF
THE CREATORS
We wouldn't be where we are today without Bob and Aubrey.
​
Bob started DJing in 2001 as a way to make some extra money. He learned the ropes of the trade from working as an apprentice under Moe Kostecky of Moe's Sounds. It was during this time that he learned how to play and emcee at bars and weddings. According to Bob that was "back when it was still all CD's".
​
Bob branched out on his own in 2005 when he started Xela Sound. Bob and Aubrey got married in April 2008. Ever since then, Aubrey jumped in to handling the marketing and helping Bob at events. Bob handed over the business to Jake in 2019 and has since enjoyed the extra time to spend with his sons and Aubrey.
Bob enjoys playing Magic: the Gathering with Jake and his son Alex on Saturday mornings, making fart jokes and exploring life with Aubrey.
If you ever wondered how Xela Sound got its name: it's named after his son Alex, which is Xela spelled backwards.
